Awards and Recognitions

• "Á mótum tugalda", a work for choir and brass or organ (2000) was awarded 2nd prize in a competition to mark one thousand years of Christianity in Iceland.
• "Stökur" for male choir and piano was awarded first prize in a competition in 2002 organised by the male choir "Þrestir"
• The song "Hryggð og sár" (2005) for baritone and piano was awarded a prize in a competition organised by the North Iceland Cultural Union celebrating the 170th anniversary of the birth of national poet Matthías Jochumsson.
• Official recognition from the Lutheran Church in Iceland for his contribution to Icelandic religious music. (2004)
